Janette feels it has been difficult to get help .

- He certainly meant good when he was told to go out and eat crackers . However, it became hopeless : why don’t I get help?
Later, Janette sought help again and was admitted to the gynecology department for hydration .
- The treatment was good . Hydration affected my general condition and I also received painkillers as the main pain from dehydration and low blood sugar was shocking and the painkiller did not stay inside .

- If the nausea is severe, anti-nausea medicines can be used . Metoclopramide and ondansetron are used as the actual nausea for gestational nausea, Polo says .
However, ondansetron can only be used during the second trimester of pregnancy, after the first 12 weeks, as there is a risk of fetal harm .

The risk of miscarriage does not increase

Odors can also cause nausea, so drinking with a whistle and ventilating your home, for example, can help .
- For myself, for example, opening the fridge or the smell of coffee can trigger vomiting, so this has also required a lot from the man, Janette says .

The next pregnancy is scary
The psychological burden that a hyperemese brings can be worse than physical ailments . Sometimes the feeling can be so exhausted that the expectant ends up having an abortion .
- Severe gestational nausea experienced in a previous pregnancy may affect family planning : a woman no longer wants to experience pregnancy even if, in principle, she would like a child, Polo says .
The pregnancies that follow Janette are also pondering : do you even dare to think about a new pregnancy anymore .
- Of course you think about it . Hope now lives every day that vomiting will stop completely . To begin with as soon as it was a better day, I immediately thought it was starting to make it easier . Then there was the drop, when the next day was worse again . Fortunately, there will not be many more bad days in a row .
For the most part, even severe symptoms ease as the pregnancy progresses, and severe nausea does not always recur in subsequent pregnancies .
It has been important for Janette to know that the baby is well . The condition has been relieved by an ultrasound examination performed in the hospital during the ward treatment .
- The doctor brought an ultrasound picture and said that maybe I can get strength from it . That's how I got it . I looked at the picture and told the child that yes we will find out about this too .
